Hello. Welcome back. I am writing this wonderful post from the sunny skies in the Smokey Mountains. For a vacation & visit with Mom we met up at a cabin we rented in Gatlinburg , TN.
Mom never goes anywhere and we really don't, so instead of visiting Mom and sitting around doing nothing, I came up with the plan to sit around and do nothing in a new location.
It has been gorgeous and restful. We left Sunday morning when it was 5*. Today we're sunny and going to be in the mid 60s!
The pups were WONDERFUL travelers. Peryn & Volos slept in the backseat 90% of the trip. Lada was secure in the passenger's lap or on the console. And before anyone freaks out, they were all buckled in.
They love the cabin. They love looking off the deck. The weather is perfect and the bugs are nearly non-existent that we leave the doors of the decks open for them to come in and out as they choose. It also allows for them to hear when one of us returns. They can see the parking spots from the corner of the deck.
The original cabin we were supposed to stay in (on the river) was unavailable due to repairs. They called on Wed to let us know and give us the option of taking their suggested replacement. It had most of the main amenities we needed. Normally this cabin isn't "Pet Friendly" , but between losing a 4 day reservation or allowing pets...you can guess what they did.
We brought a box of toys for them and we've been playing with them. Peryn doesn't understand NO and kept picking up and dropping his tennis ball until it rolled right off the deck. RIP tennis ball.
Lada found a new location to lay in while we sat around the table. The box that the toys arrived in sits in the corner and she decided to embrace her inner cat.
Right now the dogs are all resting. Daddy is downstairs in the "man cave" reading/playing games, Gramma, Uncle Davey, & Ricky went for a ride and Mom is sitting here working on the blog.
It's been a nice get-away. We haven't done this in years. Last vacation we took was 2017 with the Cattle Dogs to Hocking Hills. Highly recommend this visit.
I'd like to stay longer, but yet I want to go home.
But know this......our pups are having the time of their lives.
One last thing before I sign off......please pray, send positive vibes to the universe, or whatever your form of support is.... we're hoping for a particular outcome in the next few days. Praying it goes our way.......
Great pictures! Loved the scenery. So glad you had a good time. Carol and Toni
