Spoiled brats

Let me tell you about my afternoon.

I finished work at 2:30 PM as usual.  However, being that it is Thursday and a full house, I can't just finish work and do whatever I want. NO I can't.   Not with these monsters around.

The second they hear me log off from work and I push away from the desk, they start up. All of them barking & excitedly heading to or trying to herd me towards the basement.
Unfortunately for them, I did not sleep well and have zero patience for them today.

It isn't like they're completely ignored. I went to the basement this morning and at lunch.  They just are spoiled and believe that EVERY time I am free, they get to go to the basement. Part of that is my fault having always taken them downstairs when I am not working.  Before work, lunch time, then after work.  They are not happy when they do not get there way.    They do NOT take it lying down.

SO I came into the kitchen to let them out.  Next I try to bribe them with bones...it's a temporary distraction. I next attempt to sit down in my recliner. That just makes it worse. They surround me barking or trying to get me to pay attention, pet them, follow them.

So I have Lada on my lap-extremely hyper. Barking, licking, jumping at me.   Volos, who may appear to most to be a chill guy, gets really excited because he LOVES going downstairs. Peryn is next to me on the couch, with a toy, growling because he wants Volos to go with him to the basement.  Volos climbs up on the recliner, on top of me and start wiggling because he's so happy and excited. HE rubs into me all crazy like the nut he is.

I am unable to do anything other than hold him while he does this. Meanwhile, Lada does not like that Momma is paying attention to somebody who isn't her.   Ziva is on the other side, wanting me to pet her. She's also doing her slow annoying bark.  The bark that says I am not getting my way and I really want you to do what I want.

Finally they start to calm down & Ziva continues her slow, I am pouting-give in to me.

IT's taken me several hours to type this up because I keep getting my arm poked & interrupting me.  Ziva is back at it with the barking.  She desperately wants me to play with her.  I just can't with her.  I've been trying to work with ignoring her after her basic needs are met.  I don't want her getting used to using that voice and bark to get her way when it comes to going to the basement.   No need to create a monster.

After dinner now & Rich is being a saint & took them downstairs. Pure chaos!!!
