Pupdate-Peryn

I am very lucky that Peryn is a pretty happy pup overall.    I am such a horrible Momma.

When I let the dogs out to go potty, Peryn has this routine that he follows most of the time.  He waits until the rest of the pups go to the bathroom before he goes.   The problem with this is when the rest of them are done, they immediately come inside.

Since Peryn waits for them to finish, he'll find his spot & then take his time.  The really bad thing about this is if I am distracted, I see the dogs have each come in ( at different times) and since no other is coming in, I shut the door.

I have left Peryn outside quite a number of times.  What's worse is most of the time it is for AWHILE.   If he barks, it must be quiet because I never hear him.   I end up finding out when I go to call him or do something and he isn't there.

One year (at this house), during the summer, my girlfriends and I were sitting around the table & I was looking towards the front door.  The front door was open & porch light was on. I am talking & I look at the door to see Peryn looking back at me.   It took a moment to realize he had walked around the house to the front door to get my attention.

He is always so happy to be let back inside and he eats up the attention he gets for having been forgotten.

I did this a few weeks ago.
SO to counteract this, I purchased & set up a Motion Sensor alarm.  It's facing the back door.   It chimes when movement at the back door is detected.

OF COURSE!!!  Of course it went off so much, I placed it on mute with the notion that i would turn it back on in the early mornings or when people are over.

Saturday my friends were over. I forgot to unmute it.  We notice Peryn is missing. I look at the sensor and see it blinking (indicating movement).  Sure enough, I left him outside again.

UGH!!! He was so happy to be back inside and eat up the attention we all gave him.

I AM HORRIBLE😢🤦‍♀️

  1. You're not horrible. He just needs to get his act together and go potty when the others do. LOL Toni and Carol
